Saanich Police look to identify suspect in attempted child-luring incident on Monday

Saanich Police are alerting the public of another attempted child-luring incident which took place earlier this week.

On Monday, November 15th, just before 3:30 p.m., officers responded to a call near Claremont Secondary School. 

According to the report, a 10-year-old child had been approached by a man in a vehicle. The man attempted to lure the child to his car who refused. 

The child made it home safely and told their parents about the incident. 

The suspect was described by the child as being 50 to 60 years old with glasses, tan skin and a medium build. He is said to have short dark-grey messy hair. 

At the time of the incident he was wearing a red sweater with a white collared shirt underneath. 

The suspect’s vehicle was also described as an older, faded silver sedan. 

This incident comes after several other child luring incidents in Oak Bay, Topaz Park and two cases on the Saanich Peninsula this month.
