Bottle recycling in Greater Victoria just got a lot easier with the new Return-It Express & GO recycling station at the Hartland Landfill in Saanich.
The new express recycling service is housed in a 20-foot repurposed shipping container that will operate during the landfill’s operating hours.
This new express station allows residents to conveniently drop off their pre-bagged beverage containers and receive their deposit refunds by Interac e-Transfer or cheque.
To utilize the service, simply create an online account by visiting the Express Return-It website. Next, bring your containers to the station at Hartland Landfill in a sealed and clear bag.
Once on site, print your bag label at the station, enter the pin code provided and drop your bag of bottles off!
The new express station allows customers to skip the sorting and the long lineups.
When the staff has completed your drop off, your money will automatically be sent to your online account where it can be redeemed by Interac e-Transfer, cheque or donated to a registered charity of your choice.

There are currently 175 Return-It collection sites in British Columbia. Victoria’s new Express & Go location marks the 9th of it’s kind in the province.
