Join Victoria Buzz in celebrating the official opening of Lights of Wonder for the season

Share

The most wonderful time of year is here, and it’s about to get a whole lot brighter!

Downtown Victoria’s Centennial Square is set to be illuminated by thousands of twinkling lights this Thursday, December 16th – and you’re invited.

Grab your favourite people and some hot cocoa and join the people of Victoria in celebrating the official kick-off of the much-anticipated Lights of Wonder – one of the city’s most festive, family-friendly and free events of the season.

The Victoria Buzz team will be live on location that evening from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and even better? We’ll have a special gift from Downtown Victoria for the first 300 people who come by!

The Lights of Wonder display officially lights up for the first time at 4 p.m. this Thursday, December 16th, with the opening ceremony kicking off at 5 p.m.

On opening night, you can expect to see a blessing and dancing by the Songhees Nation. A little later on the Victoria Chamber Choir will be performing, followed by a performance from the Edelweiss Club.

Additionally, the DVBA will be collecting donations for the 9-10 Soup Kitchen at the Giving Booth on site.

Experience the magic of the holidays when you visit this outdoor wonderland, which features themed light exhibits, four interactive light tunnels, and a 40-foot festive tree.

With free admission and for all ages, Lights of Wonder offers live entertainment, warm nibbles, and magical light displays, running from December 16th all of the way until December 31st – including Christmas Day!
