On the Saanich Peninsula, RCMP responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a BC Transit bus.

According to the BC Transit, the bus was travelling southbound on Highway 17 Sunday morning when a vehicle in the adjacent lane slid into side of bus resulting in a broken window and damage to the bus.

The other vehicle sustained front end damage. It is believed the car slid on black ice.

There were eight passengers onboard. No injuries were reported.

The bus was returned to the garage and there was some lost service as a result of the incident.

Temperatures are expected to hover around the freezing mark for most of the week reaching lows of 0 to 2 degrees.
