A surprise windstorm has knocked power out to thousands in Greater Victoria Wednesday morning.
According to BC Hydro, 2,407 customers are without power along the border of Saanich and Victoria.
The outages occurred at 8:42 a.m. Wednesday.
The affected areas are west of Fairlane Terrace, north of Jackson Street, east of Saanich Road and south of Cumberland Road.
According to BC Hydro, crews are on scene and power is expected to be restored by 10:45 a.m. today.
The outage was caused by a tree across a wire.
There is also an outage affecting another 18 hydro customers in another area of Saanich as well as five in Metchosin.
