The Victoria Royals’ Teddy Bear Toss returns to Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre this Friday

Get those throwing arms ready, Victoria!

After a wildly successful road trip, the Victoria Royals are returning home for a few fan favourites at SOFMC.

This Friday, December 17th marks an annual event no Royals fans will want to miss – the much anticipated Teddy Bear Toss night!

Join your Royals as they take on the visiting Tri-City Americans on Friday, with the puck dropping at 7:05 p.m. – and bring your fuzzy friends, too.

Due to COVID-19, the fur-filled event took a brief hiatus during 2020, so fans and players alike will be looking forward to topping 2019’s numbers in terms of teddies thrown onto the ice.

That year, over 4200 bears were thrown from the stands in a flurry of support – a good benchmark to try to surpass this year.

Don’t have a bear on hand to bring? Don’t fret! Extra bears will be handed out to any fans who arrive without one.

Though the race to the first goal will be a spirited one between the Royals’ team mates, it’s all for a good cause – all bears that rain down on Friday night will be donated to local charities.

And the fun will continue into the weekend, as the Royals hit the ice at home in a back-to-back against Tri-City on Saturday, December 18th for their Christmas Classic.

At this holiday-themed game, fans will have the chance to support local businesses, and even do some last minute shopping with the Royals!

Fans should also come dressed to impress as they can compete for the title of Ugliest Christmas Sweater, so don your coziest masterpiece and join Victoria’s team in celebrating the season.

After five wins in a row, the boys in blue are looking to keep it going at these exciting fan-centred games and look forward to seeing you there – tickets for both games are still available online!
