Two people seriously injured after 2-vehicle crash in Nanaimo Monday morning

Nanaimo RCMP are seeking anyone with information regarding a motor vehicle crash that occurred early Monday morning to come forward. 

At approximately 7:30 a.m., Monday December 6th a motor vehicle crash in the northbound lane of Nanaimo Parkway sent two people to hospital with varying degrees of injuries. 

According to a release by RCMP, it is believed an adult woman, driving a red Honda Civic driving southbound, lost control of her vehicle before crossing over the grassy median and into the northbound lane. 

She then collided with an oncoming black Nissan. 

The driver of the Honda Civic sustained serious life threatening injuries and the driver of the Nissan sustained significant injuries. 

Police, EHS and fire responded. Both involved were transported by paramedics to the Nanaimo General Hospital.

As a result of the crash, the two northbound lanes were closed for 45 minutes while investigators examined the scene. 

Police are now asking any motorists who were in the area to check their dashcam footage.
