Saanich Police are sending their thoughts and prayers to the family of a youth involved in a collision that occurred late Monday night.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. on December 6th, officers responded to a report of a young pedestrian hit by an oncoming vehicle while crossing a marked crosswalk on Cedar Hill Cross Road at Merriman Drive.
The pedestrian was rushed to the Victoria General Hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained on-scene, fully cooperating with officers.
The road was closed until 3:30 a.m. as traffic collision analysts investigated the scene.
