Capital City Comic Con postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions

You’ll have to keep your superhero swag stored away a little longer.

Due to COVID-19 public health restrictions, Capital City Comic Con announced today it’s postponing this year’s event to the fall.

Initially scheduled for March 25th to 27th, organizers have pushed the dates to September 23rd to 25th out of “an abundance of caution.”

While a disappointing outcome for Destination Greater Victoria CEO Paul Nursey, he’s staying positive.

“We want visitors and locals attending Capital City Comic Con to have the best experience possible,” Nursey said.

“We expect fewer public health restrictions in September and will be able to deliver better value for those attending at that time.”

Destination Greater Victoria, the Downtown Victoria Business Association and Cherry Bomb Toys are Capital City Comic Con’s presenting sponsors.

Even with the date change, convention organizers expect minimal disruption, pending confirmation of talent availability.

Capital City Comic Con says tickets purchased for March will remain valid in September.

If a ticket holder cannot attend come the fall, they can email tickets@capitalcitycomiccon.ca to discuss their options.
