RCMP are seeking public information after reports of a possible shooting in a Nanaimo residence Friday morning.
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on January 28th, officers received reports of a shooting at a residence in the 200 block of Needham Street.
Officers attended quickly, locating several individuals inside a residence.
Two were suffering from serious injuries, one male was suffering from a firearms injury and another male was suffering from what appeared to be an assault.
Other individuals in the residence were suffering from effects of being bear sprayed.
The Nanaimo RCMP Serious Crimes Unit is still investigating, however, initial investigations indicate the shooting was targeted.
“The Nanaimo RCMP strongly suspect that the suspects and the victims are known to each other, and there is no threat to the public at this time,” said Sergeant Chris Manseau, Media Relations Officer for the BC RCMP.
“Investigators are currently conducting statements and speaking with neighbors, canvassing for eye witnesses and possible video surveillance.”
