BC health officials report 2,701 new cases of COVID-19 for a three-day period on Monday, February 14th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 2,701 new cases of COVID-19 for a three-day period on Monday, February 14th.

There have been 341,286 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Day-to-Day Breakdown:

  • Friday-Saturday: 1,151

  • Saturday-Sunday: 883

  • Sunday-Monday: 667

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 495

  • Fraser Health: 783

  • Island Health: 423

  • Interior Health: 676

  • Northern Health: 324

  • Resident outside Canada: 0

There are now a total of 803 people in hospital with COVID-19, 119 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

17 new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,764.

Outbreaks

There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks in the province.

The outbreaks at George Derby Centre (Fraser Health), Westview Place, Hamlets at Penticton, Cottonwoods Care Centre, McKinney Place, Gillis House, Village by the Station and Spring Valley Care Centre (Interior Health) have been declared over.

There are a total of 39 ongoing health care outbreaks in the province.

There are currently 23 health care outbreaks in the Island Health region.

Vaccinations

As of Monday, February 14th:

  • 90.4% (4,506,205) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 85.3% (4,249,831) have received their second dose.
  • 93.1% (4,315,735) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.5% (4,193,878) received their second dose and 52.7% (2,443,314) have received a third dose.
  • 93.5% (4,042,312) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 90.9% (3,932,861) received their second dose and 55.3% (2,391,138) have received a third dose.
