BC health officials report 3,287 new cases of COVID-19 for a three-day period on Monday, February 7th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 3,287 new cases of COVID-19 for a three-day period on  Monday, February 7th.

There have been 333,925 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

Day-to-Day Breakdown:

  • Friday-Saturday: 1,326
  • Saturday-Sunday: 1,118
  • Sunday-Monday: 843

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 440
  • Fraser Health: 864
  • Island Health: 478
  • Interior Health: 999
  • Northern Health: 499
  • Resident outside Canada: 7

There are currently 23,739 active cases of COVID-19 in the province.

306,419 people who tested positive have recovered.

There are now a total of 987 people in hospital with COVID-19, 141 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

32 new people have died from COVID-related causes, including 5 in Island Health, making the provincial death toll 2,707. 

Outbreaks

There have been 11 new health-care facility outbreaks in the province:  Good Samaritan Delta View Care Centre (Fraser Health), Pondarosa, Castleview Care Centre, Overlander Residential Care, Spring Valley Care Centre, Village by the Station (Interior Health), Sunridge Place, Island View Place, Nanaimo Seniors Village, Sluggett House and Glacier View Lodge (Island Health).

The outbreaks at Laurel Place (Fraser Health), Kelowna General Hospital, Mariposa Gardens, Heritage Square, Lakeview Lodge, Crestview Village, Summerland Senior’s Village (Interior Health), Eagle Ridge Manor, Fir Park Village, The Summit, Saanich Peninsula Hospital – Long Term Care and Glenwarren Lodge (Island Health) have been declared over.

There are a total of 57 ongoing health care outbreaks in the province.

There are currently 26 health care outbreaks in the Island Health region.

Vaccinations

As of Monday, February 7th:

  • 10,968,111 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC
  •  90.2% (4,498,488) of eligible people five and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 84.6% (4,218,470) have received their second dose.
  • 93.0% (4,311,140) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 90.3% (4,187,145) received their second dose and 49.7% (2,305,999) have received a third dose.
  • 93.4% (4,038,281) of all eligible adults in B.C. have received their first dose, 90.8% (3,927,001) received their second dose and 52.9% (2,288,305) have received a third dose.
