After a long and stressful winter, it’s time to pamper ourselves.
RITUAL, BC’s first urban Nordic Spa, has just opened in downtown Victoria, and wants to invite you to rest and cleanse your mind and body.
Guests to the spa will navigate a two-hour circuit, inspired by the classic sauna tradition of Finland that reimagines the hot/cold/relax circuit in an urban setting.
The circuit features an indoor cold plunge pool (9°c), four saunas including traditional Finnish and Infrared saunas (up to 90°C), steam room (45°c), a warm Himalayan salt lounge, Nordic showers and outdoor patios and can be completed the guests own pace, alone or with others.
The centre also offers massage services, a lounge and outdoor space as well as a café bar area featuring non-alcoholic artisanal beverages, local craft beer and snacks.
For those who prefer a quieter sauna experience, the spa also has three bookable sauna suites that offer privacy.

“My first sauna experience was at age three at my Grandmother’s Muskoka cottage in Ontario, and I’ve been obsessed with the experience ever since,” said Founder and CEO Marci Hotsenpiller.
“Growing up in a ski racing family, we spent winters training on the glaciers of Austria and Switzerland with our post-ski recovery taking place in the thermal baths followed by a cold plunge. RITUAL fulfills my dream of bringing all the amazing benefits of the hot sauna, cold plunge, and massage under one roof in my hometown of Victoria….with the opportunity for a cold beverage afterward.”
The RITUAL Nordic Spa circuit starts at $59 for a mid-week visit or $69 on weekends. Regular guests to the spa can also opt for a series pass with a monthly charge.
Provincial health guidelines are being followed. All guests must provide proof of vaccination and follow mask guidelines while in the spa.
