Back in July, a Victoria-based fashion line transformed the industry by inviting people to see how their clothes are made up close and personal.
Now, ecologyst has opened a brand new location downtown on Johnson Street aimed at reducing waste and emissions while offering sustainable clothing—that’s made here.
ecologyst was originally born in 2013 as Sitka, and with their latest expansion they look to continue to serve as a retail storefront in addition to their Powerhouse location.
The sustainable fashion line values connection over consumption—and with a start-to-finish process in their own space, they design, sample, produce, and ship.
They also offer repairs to extend the longevity of the pieces, meaning you can choose your favourites over and over again—guaranteed for life!
Pieces like their Womens Quilted Wool Liner Jacket are currently in production, which is an upgrade of the classic quilted jacket.
With all-natural and sustainably sourced textiles that are warm, water repellent, and wind-resistant, ecologyst sourced 100% wool insulation, organic cotton poplin lining, and light but durable responsibly sourced wool outer – replacing traditionally used nylons and poly/plastic insulations.

ecologyst’s new flagship retail location officially opened its doors to the public on Saturday, February 12th, but they’re hosting their grand opening this upcoming weekend.
On Saturday, February 19th from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., you can pop by as they unveil a limited edition screenprint specifically for the new shop.
You’ll also have the chance to screen print a tote for yourself or receive one free with any purchase.
Tickets for the event are available online and include an organic cotton canvas tote and screenprinting tutorial run by Lucas Copplestone.
ecologyst uses all-natural materials, sourced from locations like New Zealand, Ireland and the United States. In addition to their Victoria factory and storefronts, they also produce goods with partners in Ontario, Quebec and the U.S.
