BC reports 291 new cases of COVID-19 in the province on Wednesday, March 30th

The BC Ministry of Health reported 291 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, March 30th, for a total of 356,252 cases in the province since the pandemic began.

The new cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 53
  • Fraser Health: 60
  • Island Health: 57
  • Interior Health: 102
  • Northern Health: 19
  • Resident outside Canada: 0

There are now a total of 276 people in hospital with COVID-19, 43 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

In the past 24 hours, there were six new deaths have reported from COVID-related causes, for an overall total of 2,996. One of those deaths was reported in the Island Health region.

There have been no new health-care facility outbreaks in the province.

Vaccinations

As of Wednesday, March 30th, 90.8% (4,528,240) of eligible people five and older in BC have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 87.3% (4,351,830) have received their second dose.

In addition, 93.5% (4,331,797) of eligible people 12 and older in BC have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 91.1% (4,220,677) received their second dose and 57.5% (2,665,395) have received a third dose.

Also, 93.8% (4,056,759) of all eligible adults in BC have received their first dose, 91.5% (3,955,946) received their second dose and 59.3% (2,562,901) have received a third dose.
