COVID-19: BC health officials report 391 new cases, 13 more deaths on Thursday

The BC Ministry of Health reported 391 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, March 3rd.

There have been 349,604 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.

New cases were reported in these health regions:

  • Vancouver Coastal Health: 43
  • Fraser Health: 88
  • Island Health: 85
  • Interior Health: 100
  • Northern Health: 75
  • Resident outside Canada: zero

There are now a total of 511 people in hospital with COVID-19, 79 of whom are in critical care — ICU or acute care units.

Thirteen new people have died from COVID-related causes, making the provincial death toll 2,896.

Outbreaks

There has been one new healthcare facility outbreak at Parkwood Court (Island Health).

The outbreak at Rest Haven Lodge (Island Health) has been declared over.

There are a total of 21 ongoing health care outbreaks in the province.

There are currently eight health care outbreaks in the Island Health region.

Vaccinations

As of Thursday, March 3rd:

  • 11,355,173 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in BC.
  • 93.3% of eligible people 12 and older in BC have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 90.8% have received their second dose.
  • 93.6% of all eligible adults in BC have received their first dose, and 91.2% have received their second dose.
