Customers frustrated after Coast Capital announces temporary suspension of banking services

Share

Customers of Coast Capital Savings have taken to the internet to share their frustrations this week, as the bank announced a temporary suspension of all in-person and online services to come in April.

The outage will occur between April 8th to 13th, during which time Coast Capital will be upgrading their banking systems, resulting in the closures of branches, digital banking and their Coast-by-Phone service.

The bank recommends customers complete any important transactions before April 8th, with branches closing at 7 p.m. PST that day.

Adding to the frustration, following the reopening the bank will be closed an additional two business days for the Easter Long weekend.

Although branches will be closed, ATMS will still be available for cash withdrawals, deposits and PIN changes and customers will still be able to make purchases with their debit cards.

During the outage, customers will not be able to log into Coast Online Banking, the Coast Mobile Banking app and Coast Online Business Banking.

Branches will also not be able to be reached by phone.

Coast Capital reminds their customers that they will not contact you asking for any personal information during the outage, in an effort to prevent any potential fraud.

Coast Capital says the Advice Centre will be open 24 hours a day.

The bank confirmed pre-authorized payments scheduled during the outage will be processed as normal.
