Police issue warning after suspect wearing DHL uniform broke into Oak Bay home

Oak Bay Police are reminding residents to lock their doors after a man wearing a courier t-shirt, who may not actually work for the company, broke into a home.

On March 22nd, Oak Bay Police said they attended a residence in the 2700-block of Cadboro Bay Road after receiving reports of a break and enter on March 12th. 

The resident of the home reported that after returning home after an absence, he noticed several pieces of identification and an iPhone 8 were taken from the home. 

Video surveillance of the home showed a Caucasian man, approximately 30-40 years of age enter the home while the resident was out.

According to reports, he was wearing baggy clothing, wearing a courier t-shirt and carrying a black backpack.

However, the suspect is not believed to be an employee of DHL. 

Residents are reminded to lock entry doors and keep important documents and identification in a secure area in your home.
