Looking to get a head start on your summer plans?

This local summer camp has got you covered, and their registration just opened!

Kicking off on Monday, June 27th, The Cridge Centre is offering a full-day summer camp for kids aged 5-12, each week with a different theme of engaging fun.

The ‘Sun-Fun’ day camps are full of crafts, games and exciting out trips, and some of the themes this summer will consist of “To Infinity and Beyond,” “Mario Party,” and “Lego Land.”

Highlights from previous summers have included The Cridge Olympics, swimming in Lake Cowichan and fun trips into the community.

Each day kids will come home with new skills, new friendships, and tired bodies – just what every parent dreams of!

A typical day at SunFun might look like:

  • Early morning, picking a toy and playing outside with new friends while children arrive at the centre
  • Dividing into small groups for the morning, reading a book together and making an art project based on the story
  • After lunch, driving to Gonzales Beach to build sandcastles, dig for crabs and wade in the ocean
  • Finally, eating a healthy snack and playing outside on our playground until the children are picked up.

For trips out, the camp uses a 15-24 passenger vehicle, and trained and experienced team leaders are with children at all times.

The Cridge Centre is centrally located on Hillside Avenue, and camps run daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. – parents are asked to drop their children off between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m., and pick them up between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Prices range from $190 per week for children who have just graduated from kindergarten, to $215 per week for older children.
