A 49-year-old man dubbed as a repeat offender was arrested by Saanich Police earlier this week after he broke into an Oak Bay home.
According to police, the man broken into a residence near the corner of Newton Street and Eastdowne Road in Oak Bay.
The suspect was arrested by Saanich Police after the victim and witnesses provided police with his description and the direction he travelled.
As police searched for the suspect, Saanich Police spotted the man boarding a bus carrying a pillow case with the stolen property.
The bus was stopped and he was placed under arrest. He was also in possession with a knife.
According to police, the suspect already had 12 convictions for breaking and entering. He had been released with numerous conditions, including to not be in possession of a knife.

In a tweet, Oak Bay Chief Constable Ray Bernoties said they have asked that he be held in custody for a court appearance.
