Suspect sought after man attempts to steal purse from woman in Victoria last week

VicPD are looking to identify a suspect involved in an attempted robbery in Victoria last Tuesday. 

The incident occurred around 4:45 p.m. on April 19th, when a woman was approached by an unknown man while walking in the 2000-block of Douglas Street.

According to the woman’s report to police, the next thing she remembered was laying on the ground while the man attempted to steal her purse. 

The woman screamed and the suspect fled on foot without her purse. 

Police said the woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries. 

To date, the suspect has not been identified. He is described as a 30 to 50-years-old, Caucasian man, standing approximately 5’8” tall with a very slim build. 

He had dark brown and grey hair and was wearing a dark green hooded sweater with the hood up and blue jeans.
