This Victoria ice cream truck will send you a text letting you know it’s in your neighbourhood

Over time, and without warning, ice cream trucks seemed to have become a thing of the past.

But if you happened to see a bright pink ice cream truck roaming the streets of Victoria last spring and summer, you were not mistaken.

The easy-to-spot vehicle is dubbed ‘The Ice Cream Truck’, and starting in May, they will be back delivering some of your favourite Vancouver Island ice cream treats directly to your neighbourhood.

The Ice Cream Truck was started by husband and wife team, Kris and Carli Jarvis, when they bought an old school ice cream truck back in August 2020. The truck was originally named the “Teddy Bear Treats”  truck, however the name has been rebranded to “The Ice Cream Truck”.

The truck was created with a focus on supporting local ice cream makers. Nearly half the menu is made by Canadians and includes popular Vancouver Island treats from Cold Comfort, 49 Below Ice Cream, Mexipops and more.

The colourful truck is easy to find, however, you can sign up on their website to receive text notification alerts when they are in your neighbourhood – or even view the live location of the truck on their live tracker!

The Ice Cream Truck donates a portion of all proceeds to the Children’s Health Foundation of Vancouver Island. Follow the Ice Cream Truck’s Facebook and Instagram for up to date news and products.
