Following a two-year hiatus, Victoria’s Fairfield neighbourhood was packed with event-goers as the Cook Street Village Block Party made its triumphant return this past weekend.

From food trucks to arts and crafts, vendors lined Cook Street between Oscar and Chapman Streets on Sunday for the first time since 2019—with organizers now celebrating a successful day, summing it up as “fantastic.”

“We were elated to see so many happy, smiling faces out enjoying themselves on these wonderful blocks of our city,” wrote block party organizers.

“We would like to say a warm-hearted thank you to all the volunteers, vendors, and the local business community who helped make this day so special.”

With the sun out and shining, the free event kicked off at 10 a.m. and wrapped up around 5 p.m., featuring live music and a curated beer garden, plus dog races to add to the family-friendly fun.
