Imagine checking your Lotto Max ticket to find out you won $1-million.
That’s what happened to Duncan resident, Gerald Long, who has been on cloud-nine since winning a $1-million Maxmillions prize from the April 15th Lotto Max draw.
In a media release, BCLC says Long purchased his ticket from PlayNow.com and was at his cousin’s house over the Easter weekend when he discovered he won after selecting his numbers in a unique way.
“I was picking my regular numbers and then I decided to add an extra line by physically closing my eyes and picking random numbers off of the keypad on my phone,” he recalled.
“I couldn’t believe it. I had to do a double take,” Long said with excitement.
His wife and kids had a hard time believing the life-changing news.
“She couldn’t believe it,” he said. “Everyone was in complete shock.”
The Duncan winner is looking forward to planning a family trip with some of the prize and will take his time deciding what to do with the rest.
When asked how it felt to be a millionaire, Long responded with “It’s a dream really.”
