Video footage captures the moments a pedestrian was struck by a Canada Post truck in downtown Victoria on Thursday afternoon.

The footage, sent to Victoria Buzz, shows the delivery truck turning right onto Blanshard Street from Yates Street, before hitting a pedestrian crossing the crosswalk just before 2:45 p.m. on June 9th.

According to BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), the collision was quickly reported to paramedics, with two ambulances arriving on scene.

“One patient was transported to hospital in stable condition,” BCEHS told Victoria Buzz in an emailed statement.

On Friday, Canada Post confirmed the incident, saying its team is following company protocols and working with Victoria Police.

“As there is an investigation, we cannot provide more details,” Canada Post’s spokesperson added.
