Can’t make a phone call? You’re not alone.

Telecommunications giant Rogers is experiencing a massive outage across Canada Friday morning.

The outage, which began in the early hours, is impacting wireless, cable and internet customers across the country.

Rogers confirmed on Twitter that they were aware of the issue and were working to get the network back up.

“We are aware of issues currently affecting our networks and our teams are fully engaged to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” the company said.

“We will continue to keep you updated as we have more information to share.”

Fido customers are also being impacted by the outage.

Users have reported being unable to access the internet, make phone calls and or access cable television.

A graph provided by Downdetector.com shows the outages began around 3 a.m.

In April 2021, Rogers experienced a country-wide outage that saw many unable to place calls, send text messages, or access their internet browers. The communications company attributed this outage to a software issue.

Rogers customers may be unable to call 911 due to a technical issue.

Victoria’s E-Comm service providers are asking individuals to use a landline or a different cellphone provider if their Rogers device does not connect to 911.

A debit outage, meanwhile, is impacting transactions ay local businesses due to what is described as a national outage.

More to come.
