VicPD search for intruder who broke into Esquimalt home Thursday morning

VicPD are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who broke into a woman’s home early Thursday morning.

At approximately 3 a.m. on September 1st, officers responded to a report of a break-in in the 600-block of Bryden Court. 

According to the victim, she had been awoken in her bedroom by a man dressed in dark clothing carrying a flashlight. 

She screamed at the man and he fled the residence. 

Officers, including police dogs, attempted to locate the suspect and search for evidence, however, despite extensive efforts, he was not located.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, standing 5’10” tall with a medium build.

At the time of the incident, he was wearing a dark shirt and dark pants, a black baseball cap and appeared to have curly hair.

The woman was not physically injured in the incident.

Anyone in the area with video surveillance is asked to check their footage for images resembling the suspect’s description.
