Victoria’s first annual Crabtoberfest is coming to Ogden Point this November

Forget Oktoberfest, it’s time for Crabtoberfest!

This November, the Maritime Museum of BC is hosting their first ever Crabtoberfest.

The event is to be held at Pier A at Ogden Point in the Breakwater District on November 5th.

All proceeds from this event support the Maritime Museum of BC. They want to use the funds raised to continue day-to-day operations and help with the running of school and public programs.

Finest At Sea is providing the crab and Phillips Brewing is providing the beverages for the event.

Patrons will be able to enjoy a crab dinner, half crab dinner or a vegetarian chili, dance with their friends and neighbours to a live brass band, stomp and sing along to some sea shanties and enjoy other activities and contests.

A 50/50 raffle and the Phillips Beer Tower Live Auction will also help contribute to the fundraiser.

“The idea of a community dinner at Pier A, right in front of the Maritime Museum of BC’s beloved sailboats Trekka and Tilikum, just needed a theme and a name,” said Anya Baker, the Events and Development Coordinator at the Museum.

“With crabs from Finest at Sea and beer from Phillips Brewing & Malting Co., it could only become a one-of-a-kind festival. We can’t wait to see everyone for our very first Victoria Crabtoberfest…in November!”
