

Thousands are without power on the Saanich Peninsula Thursday morning.
According to BC Hydro, the outage which occurred at around 10:40 a.m. is the result of a substation fault.
The outage is impacting a large portion of Sidney and North Saanich.
As of this publication, the outage is impacting over 13,000 BC Hydro customers. Crews are on scene and power is expected too gradually return.

A similar incident occurred in Esquimalt and parts of Victoria last week when a substation also failed. During that outage, over 13,000 were without power.
