(West Shore RCMP)

Multiple fire departments along with West Shore RCMP are investigating a structural fire in the 3000-block of Metchosin Road on Monday afternoon.

On December 5th at around 1:11 p.m. West Shore RCMP received the call of a fire on Metchosin Road and sent officers to the scene to assist fire crews.

We are working to determine if there was anyone inside,” Cst. Nancy Saggar told Victoria Buzz.

“The damage is extensive right now.”

Traffic was being diverted while fire crews battled the blaze, but as of approximately 2:50 p.m. it is open to traffic once again.

Traffic delays are still expected northbound and southbound on Metchosin Road.

Victoria Buzz will update when more information can be provided by fire crews and West Shore RCMP.
