This Wednesday is jam packed with engaging events and activities that will help you get out of your comfort zone and connect with like minded people residing in Greater Victoria.

From hands on soap making workshops and networking events to cuddling with furry doggos here are 5 events happening in and around Victoria this Wednesday, January 25th:

The Power of Networks

Participate in this workshop to learn about how to build and maintain a successful network — and some of the challenges and pitfalls you may encounter along the way. Participants will be asked to share their own experience of networks as those in attendance collaborate on the learning from each other.

Participants are encouraged to come to this in-person workshop with one or more people that you are considering creating a network with so you can imagine the future that you wish to create and explore some of the challenges you are likely to encounter along the way.

Pet Café

Missing your pet? Stressed about school?

Join the folks at UVic’s Health and Wellness Centre Wednesday afternoon for cuddles with therapy dogs while enjoying free coffee, tea, and cookies.

If you are pet-sick for your best animal pals, or just keen to pat a new dog friend, Pet Cafe is for you!

De-stress and make some friends. This is a drop-in program and anyone is welcome to attend.

Beginner Soap Making Workshop

This fun, informative, and interactive two-hour workshop introduces you to the wonderful world of cold process soap making!

Whether you are interested in making soap for fun and gifting, as a new hobby, or help to launch your own soap making business at a local market, you’ll find everything you need at this workshop

National Geographic Live: Untamed with Filipe Deandrad

Wildlife filmmaker and conservationist Filipe DeAndrade, star of Nat Geo WILD’s Untamed, gives his unfiltered look at what it’s like to come face-to-face with wild animals, survive extreme environments, and make unexpected discoveries.

He’ll also share a preview of his documentary, The River and The Wall, which focuses on wildlife along the Mexico & US border.

Open Mic Night at Hermann’s Upstairs Lounge

Singles, duos, trios…. The Herman’s Lounge offers a beautiful grand piano and a PA for vocals..

While any genre of music is allowed, this event asks performers to use acoustic instrument only.

Guests are welcome to showcase songs of their own in a supportive environment. This is a great way for singer songwriters to try new songs.
