Despite the fact that croissants are possibly the best thing to come from dough and butter, trying a new bakery for the first time can be risky as not all croissants are the same. 

Some could be too dry, others too chewy.

Saving you the trouble of finding the best croissant for your buck, here are seven awesome spots in and around Victoria where you’re guaranteed to get an excellent croissant.

Crust Bakery

At Crurst Bakery baking is their passion. Using only the finest and freshest ingredients to create delicious treats that will fill your belly and warm your heart.

Fickle Fig Farm Market

This year-round farmers’ market, bakery, and bistro, featuring seasonable, sustainable, local & organic farm produce and products from North Saanich.

Today the Fickle Fig continues to offer the most unique farm to table experience focusing on local meats and produce in its ever-rotating daily menu.

Italian Bakery

The Italian Bakery is Victoria’s first and only Italian bakery. Established in 1978, it has grown from baked goods, gelato and Italian coffee to meals to eat-in-or-go options. 

They offer a fine selection of northern Italian pastries, sweets, cakes, and organic sourdough breads.

  • When: Wednesday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fol Epi 

Known for delicious baked goods including crispy croissants paired with flavourful coffees, Fol Epi has been a Victoria favourite since its inception in 2009.

  • Where: 732 Yates Street
  • When: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pâtisserie Daniel 

Offering a variety of sweet and savoury croissants, guests can choose from almond, apple, chocolate or cheddar flavours!

  • When: Tuesday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

La Roux 

Offering an array of naturally sourced products including country bee honey and Salt Spring Jam, La Roux Patisserie is yet another great option for quality sweets and baked goods.

Wildfire Bakery 

Wildfire is a small, family-owned business, specializing in artisan baking since 1998.

Serving up quality and nutritious meals is the top priority for this bakery’s delicious croissants.
