Well that didn’t take long!
Asian grocery chain H Mart has announced it will be opening its first Vancouver Island store at Victoria’s Mayfair Shopping Centre later this year.
The announcement comes weeks after Toys R Us closed on January 2nd, after nearly 30 years in business.

Branding itself as “the largest Asian Supermarket” in North America, the American-based business operating out of New Jersey oversees Canadian stores in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, with eight locations in BC centred around Metro Vancouver.
The new 30,000 square foot store is expected to be open at Mayfair Shopping Centre by November.
As for Toys R Us, the toy retailer could return to the region in the future at a different location pending a search for a new home.
