

RCMP have a unique case on their hands following a single-vehicle collision near Port Alberni.
On Monday January 23rd, at about 6:30 p.m., RCMP were called to a minor single-vehicle collision on Highway 4 near the Taylor River rest area, west of Port Alberni.
Upon arriving at the scene, police said they found the driver uninjured and a passenger, a man, deceased inside the vehicle.
Port Alberni RCMP says the cause of death is under investigation but is not believed to be related to the collision, noting next-of-kin notifications are in progress.
Police do not believe there is any danger to the public.
The BC Coroners Service is also conducting a parallel investigation.
