Driver suffers life-threatening injuries after two-vehicle crash in Saanich Tuesday night

Saanich Police are seeking witnesses and dashcam after one person suffered a serious life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night.

Just after 8:30 p.m., January 24th, the 4100-block of Interurban Road was closed between Wilkinson and Grange roads due what police called as a “serious” crash.

Police say the collision caused a white sedan to veer off-road, into some bushes and crash into a tree. A grey sedan drove over a curb and crashed into a fence.

The drivers were the only occupants of each vehicle.

Investigators believe the driver of the grey sedan entered the roadway from a driveway when it collided with a white sedan travelling southbound on Interurban Road.

According to police, one of the drivers sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital. The other driver sustained serious life-threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

The road re-opened at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Anyone that witnessed the collision or events leading up to the collision is asked to contact the Saanich Police at 250-475-4321. Furthermore, investigators are seeking dash-camera footage of events leading up to the crash in the 4100 block of Interurban Road.
