Nanaimo singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer-Smith snags two Juno nominations

Nanaimo’s powerhouse performer, Lauren Spencer-Smith has done Vancouver Island proud by garnering two nominations at this year’s Juno Awards.

The 19-year-old was discovered after she appeared on American Idol in 2020. Since then, she has been busy and representing her home with a tremendous amount of pride and support.

She is nominated for TikTok Juno Fan Choice as well as Artist of the Year along with Canadian pop royalty such as Avril Lavigne, Shawn Mendes, Tate McCrae, Michael Buble and The Weeknd.

She is hot off the tails of a career highlight moment performing at the acclaimed Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2023.

Spencer-Smith also got to perform at last year’s Junos and the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she showed Canada and the rest of the world her hit single Fingers Crossed which she released in 2022.

The Juno Awards ceremony will be held on March 13th in Edmonton this year and the annual event will air live on CBC and CBC Gem. 

Spencer-Smith’s newest single, Best Friend Breakup, is set for release on February 10th.
