Fancy  a staycation?

If so, you’re in luck, because three hotels in Victoria were recently named to TripAdvisor’s list of ‘Cool and Unique British Columbia Hotels’.

Victoria and Vancouver Island don’t get the recognition they deserve when it comes to the finer things on the island with Vancouver just across the water.

Thankfully, TripAdvisor just published the top ten hotels in BC and Victoria made the list three times, claiming spots number three, five and nine.

#3 – Abigail’s Hotel

Abigail’s is a women-owned business and it operates in a heritage, bed-and-breakfast/luxury hotel capacity.

They were named  one of TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best, 2022.

Only adults are welcome at this 1930s Tudor style mansion that has only 22 rooms. They showcase their heritage charm while also remaining modern and romantic.

Their chef is one of Victoria’s finest and he runs the breakfast potion of the bed-and-breakfast with opulent, healthy meals for all guests.

It is located downtown and is only a few blocks away from the Inner Harbour.

The average room costs $208 CAD.

#5 – The Oswego Hotel

Another women-owned hotel that TripAdvisor has also identified as an Asian-owned business. This one is a bit less eclectic as it wants to be known as a “sophisticated, urban, boutique hotel.”

The Oswego sees business men looking to make deals, young lovers having a romantic getaway and adventure-seekers looking for a luxurious place to lay their head after spending the day exploring the island’s wilderness.

It is known for its modern design, its high standards of service and its amenities, of which there are many.

Located downtown, this boutique hotel is also mere minutes from Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

The average room costs $165 CAD.

#9 – The Magnolia Hotel & Spa

This hotel and spa won 2020’s Top Hotel in Canada from TripAdvisor and won fifth place in Top Hotel in Canada 2021.

It boasts 64 rooms that all have floor to ceiling windows so guests can bask in Victoria’s views 24/7. Every room also has two-poster beds and deep bathtubs to optimize relaxation.

One of Victoria’s best cocktail bars and restaurants, the Courtenay Room is the hotel’s restaurant and will leave guests feeling happy and full of some of Victoria’s best food.

The spa has seven treatment rooms for guests to receive optimal relaxation.

This spot is only two blocks from Victoria’s Inner Harbour.

The average room costs $270 CAD.
