2022 Victoria city council candidate still on the run from VicPD

Share

VicPD officers are still looking to find a 44-year-old Victoria woman who has been wanted since Canada Day last year. She was to be a candidate in October’s municipal election for Victoria’s city council.

Riga Gordon has been facing charges since July 1st, 2022 when she allegedly refused to stop for a VicPD officer patrolling Dallas Road on their bike. Police say the officer had to “leap out of the way” to avoid being struck by Gordon’s vehicle.

According to VicPD, Gordon fled, driving erratically in the downtown core on the busy holiday until she was eventually boxed in by several police cruisers in the 600-block of Pandora Avenue.

Here she was arrested and taken into custody before being released with a future court date.

Gordon failed to show up for her court date and was then the subject of a wanted person alert across BC on September 15th of last year.

According to VicPD, she was located and arrested by Langley RCMP just one week later on September 22nd. Since that time, she is now sought again by VicPD officers.

VicPD have not disclosed the reason for why she is wanted again after her arrest in September, 2022.

Godron is described as a 44-year-old Caucasian woman, standing 5’ tall with a medium build, weighing approximately 161 pounds, with black hair and green eyes.
