It’s a sad day for Chinese food lovers in Victoria.
After serving vegetarian Chinese cuisine for well over 20 years, the Lotus Pond Vegetarian Restaurant announced online that the eatery will be closing permanently this spring.
In a statement on their website, the owners expressed their thoughts on the unfortunate news, “We would like to express our deepest gratitude for all the support the community has given to us throughout these years and will continue to provide you with our best service until our last day.”
Lotus Pond now joins the growing list of Victoria restaurants that have recently announced their closures, including Agrius Restaurant and Old Vic Fish and Chips, which declared their departures in January.
A recent post on Reddit announcing their departure garnered lots of attention, with the vegetarian community, in particular, mourning the loss of the eatery.
Lotus Pond will officially close their doors for good on Sunday, April 30th—so get it while you still can!
