A faster bus route is coming to the West Shore.

In a media release, BC Transit announced that public transit users travelling from the West Shore to downtown Victoria can look forward to a quicker ride this spring.

On April 10th, the new transit service, dubbed the RapidBus, will replace the existing route 50 from Langford to the downtown core.

When it launches, transit users can expect a speed increase in travel along the new West Shore to Downtown route.

According to BC Transit, the bus will arrive at a minimum of 15 minute intervals at RapidBus stops between 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.

This increase in service builds on previous initiatives to prioritize rapid transit in the region with the bus lanes along Douglas Street and along the Trans-Canada Highway.

Will this new service encourage you to give the bus out to the West Shore a try—or vice versa?
