Suspect sought after tourists report that a stranger kicked their dog in downtown Victoria

VicPD are looking to identify a suspect who was captured on video attacking a couple by kicking their dog and assaulting them in downtown Victoria over the weekend.

According to police, the couple, who are visiting from the city from another country, left their hotel in the 700-block of Government Street just after 11 p.m. on February 25th when the man kicked their dog.

The unknown man then got into a physical altercation with one of the tourists, which resulted in him kicking the couple’s dog.

They told the suspect to back off and called police. He then argued with the couple and left the scene before officers arrived.

Police said the couple and their dog did not require medical treatment, but were shaken by the incident. The attack and images of the suspect were captured on CCTV.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man between the ages of 25 and 35 years-old, standing 6’2″ tall with a heavy build and dark brown hair that is thinning at the crown.

At the time, he was wearing a blue and black plaid hooded sweatshirt underneath a dark puffy vest and blue jeans.
