Two suspects were arrested this week in separate stolen vehicle incidents in Langford.

On Thursday, February 2nd, at around 9 a.m., West Shore RCMP were contacted by multiple people after a green 1994 Mercury Topaz was being driven erratically in the area of Meaford and Station Avenue.

Not long after, police received another call reporting the vehicle was just stolen from a location on Goldstream Avenue.

West Shore RCMP were able to track the vehicle down and a 41-year-old man was arrested.

According to police, he was arrested for possession of stolen property, impaired driving, possession of controlled substances and prohibited from driving (as he was subject to prior court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from driving).

“The suspect appeared to be under the influence of drugs and a search of his person revealed he was in possession of controlled substances in excess of 2.5 grams,” said Cst. Nancy Saggar.

“Once sober, he was released on an Undertaking and is to appear in court on May 4th.”

The second stolen vehicle incident occurred in the early morning hours Friday, February 3rd.

At around 2 a.m., a West Shore RCMP officer came across a green 2002 Jeep Wrangler idling behind a businesses in 770 block of Goldstream Avenue.

The driver inside the vehicle was wanted on a warrant for prohibited driving. It was also determined the Jeep was reported stolen.

Saggar says the suspect will be facing charges for prohibited driving as well as possession of stolen property in relation to the stolen vehicle.
