Condé Nast Traveler published its list of “The 16 Best Island Vacations in the World” and Vancouver Island made the list!
Alongside some of the most picturesque island getaways from Lanaii, Hawaii to Mallorca, Spain. Vancouver Island has held its own, coming in at 6th place as one of the best Islands in the world for travel.
Travel expert Sheri Doyle contributed a write-up about Vancouver Island stating there’s more to the island than just charming, British-influenced Victoria.
The travel blog praises the island for its charming qualities including the Butchart Gardens and stunning destinations for an outdoor adventure along the picturesque views of Tofino.
“One of my favourite places on the island is Tofino, a small town on the far west coast about halfway up the island that’s a great destination for outdoor adventures with fantastic food and lodging,” wrote Doyle in her write up.
Doyle goes on to recommend orca whale watching in Victoria and humpbacks in Tofino.
