You can skate with the Victoria Royals after the game this Family Day

Share

Sharpen your skates, Victoria!

Not only will we be treated to a rare matinee Victoria Royals game this Monday, you’ll have a chance to hit the ice with current team for one of their most loved traditions – Skate with the Players!

WHL stars, and maybe even a few future National Hockey League players, will join fans immediately following the contest for a post-game skate.

The Victoria Royals are set to play three games over the Family Day weekend—they will take on the Saskatoon Blades at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre on Friday, February 17th. They will then head over the border on Saturday to battle Seattle Thunderbirds before both teams return to Victoria on Family Day.

Victoria (15-32-4-1) is coming off a convincing 6-2 win over the Vancouver Giants in the back-half of a home-and-home series played last Friday and Saturday night.

They will look to maintain the momentum against two tough opponents who both rank inside the top 10 teams in the WHL.

Friday night’s puck drop is slotted for 7:05 p.m. at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, when the Victoria Royals will be holding their annual Indigenous Cultural Celebration Night.

The celebration will include presentations by representatives of the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations as well as an Indigenous vendor fair on the concourse at gate one.

Puck drop for Monday’s game is at 2:05 p.m. with the Skate with the Players happening immediately afterwards!
