West Shore RCMP’s Cst. Sarah Beckett may be gone but her memory is far from forgotten.

The constable, who died in the line of duty on April 5th, 2016 touched the lives of countless community members in the West Shore and has continued to do so since she has passed.

Beckett was 32-years-old when she was killed, and left behind two young boys and a husband. She was struck by a drunk driver in a motor vehicle incident.

This year marks the fourth annual Sarah Beckett Memorial Run which will take place on May 13th in Langford.

In past years, the run has raised over $50,000 for various organizations and non-profits that directly benefit the community in which Beckett served.

This year, the proceeds of the event will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club South Vancouver Island, the Goldstream Food Bank and the Cst. Sarah Beckett Memorial Scholarship which is awarded to a student in the West Shore every year.

The memorial run is a family friendly 5 km run and can be participated in either virtually, or in-person.

Adults can now register for $50 and kids under 12-years-old cost only $25.

The run starts and ends at Starlight Stadium and will end with a barbeque, entertainment and a kids zone.

Fun-runners can sign up on the Cst. Sarah Beckett Memorial Run website
