Nanaimo man arrested after wielding bow and arrow with hypodermic needle attached to it

On Monday, Nanaimo RCMP responded to reports of a man that was threatening to shoot bystanders with a hypodermic needle attached to the end of a toy bow and arrow.

Photos show that the hypodermic needle was attached to a bow and arrow with a bandaid. 

Officers quickly located the suspect and as they approached, the suspect fled. A short foot chase and a struggle ensued which ended with the suspect being arrested and taken into police custody. 

On March 14th, 32-year-old, Adam Cajander was charged with Assaulting a Police Officer, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace, Uttering Threats and Resisting Arrest. 

Cajander remains in police custody where he awaits his next court appearance which has been set for March 28th.
