Just when we’ve thought we heard it all.
In the early morning hours Sunday, police were called to a building at the University of Victoria in the 3800 block of Finnerty Road for reports of a break-in.
When officers arrived shortly before 3:30 a.m., they located two men in their late 20s playing pool and a piano.
The suspects had broken into the building via an open window.
“Investigation revealed the men were intoxicated by alcohol and had been playing pool and the piano inside the building,” Oak Bay Police said in a news release.
Both men were arrested but later released after it was determined no criminal acts were committed and no damage was caused.
They were issued a trespass letter from UVic and referred to a restorative justice program, police said.
Both men were released from police custody, issued a trespass letter from UVic and referred to a restorative justice program.
Deputy Chief Const. Julie Chanin told Victoria Buzz the men were out for a “walk and making some poor choices.” She went on to say both men, who had and no affiliation to UVic, were very remorseful and cooperative with police.
