‘Remarkable that no one was injured’: Police arrest knife-wielding man in View Royal

West Shore RCMP arrested a man over the weekend after he was seen waving around a knife in View Royal.

On Saturday, March 25th, West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a man waving around a knife behind the Four Mile Liquor Store located at Admirals Way.

Witnesses told police the man was waving around a knife and sticking it in the air, while appearing to be under the influence of drugs. Police were able to locate and arrest the man for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

During a search of the suspect, police located a large knife with a blade approximately 9 inches in length along with a replica handgun and a small quality of suspected crack cocaine. All items were seized by police.

The suspect was taken into police custody and release once sober on an Undertaking with conditions to not possess any knifes or weapons or attend Four Mile Liquor Store.

He was taken into police custody then released on an undertaking to not possess and knives or weapons or to attend the Four Mile Liquor Store once he was sober.

West Shore RCMP Cpl. Nancy Saggar said it was remarkable that no one was injured in this incident.
