Grab the popcorn and get ready to watch Canada’s newest reality show featuring a contestant who lives in Sooke.
The Ultimate Challenge turns the entire country into an obstacle course as six coaches guide and mentor teams of everyday Canadians through site-specific physical and mental challenges.
While the show doesn’t make a stop on Vancouver Island, we will be represented by Rachael Spurling, who resides in Sooke.
The competition is hosted by sports broadcaster Nikki Reyes and professional snowboarder and CBC Sports analyst Craig McMorris.
The show makes stops in Whitehorse, Squamish, Kelowna, BC; Hinton, AB; Sudbury, ON; Thousand Islands, ON; and Québec City, QC, culminating with the finale on the Confederation Bridge between New Brunswick and PEI.
The show features 24 contestants broken up into groups of four. Spurling, who is on team green and coached by Jen Kish, is described as a 31-year-old hairstylist and kickboxer.
The other coaches on the show are Donovan Bailey, Waneek Horn-Miller, Clara Hughes, Gilmore Junio, and Luke Willson.
The show was released Thursday, February 16th at 5 p.m. on CBC TV and CBC Gem and features a new show every week. Previous episodes can be watched online.
