Comedian Gerry Dee will perform at Victoria’s Royal Theatre this month

Known for his versatility, Gerry Dee has written, acted, directed, and left audiences laughing uncontrollably for more than 20 years.

This month he will perform live at the Royal Theatre in Victoria.

With a stop slated for April 26th, his long awaited return to BC’s Capital city is a part of his new cross-Canada standup comedy tour, “Best Medicine.”

Returning to Victoria for the first time since 2019, Dee tells Victoria Buzz that while it means alot to him to return to each city he has performed, Victoria has always remained a special place for him throughout his travels.

“It’s such a beautiful city, I always enjoy it. I wish I could stay longer. I think it’s a hidden gem in Canada and if people haven’t had a chance to see it, they should,” says Dee.

After four years since his last performance at the Royal Theatre, Dee says those in attendance will enjoy a new lineup of humour based on his current life experiences.

As a household name, notably known for playing himself in the hit show, Mr. D, or as the host of Family Feud Canada, Dee has spent 20 years taking risks and pursuing a career in entertainment, something he believes he was born to do.

“Once you’re in the entertainment industry you don’t say I’ll just do stand up or just act. I’ve directed, I’ve written, and I’m hosting. You’re trying to work, you’re trying to be well rounded. You take what you are interested in and anything I’ve done I’ve always been interested in,” says Dee.

When he’s not touring, you can find him acting alongside actor Joel Mchale in his latest role as Templeton Dudge, an animal control officer on FOX’s newest show, Animal Control.

For those looking to watch Dee perform live, tickets can be purchased on the Royal Theatre website.
